Miss Rodeo Montana 2014

Laramie Pursley

is the 21 year old daughter of Wade and Nancy Pursley of Chinook, Montana, and is the sister to six siblings.

Laramie now resides in Havre and is in her third year of working toward her Bachelors in Agriculture Operations Technology. She currently holds the title Miss Great Northern Rodeo. Laramie was nominated as MSU-Northern Homecoming Queen and has made the Dean’s List every semester attending college. In addition to being involved with Red Cross-Blood Drawing and Hands on History, she has also served as a volunteer at Montana Range Days and is a member of Chi-Alpha (collegiate Christian club). Laramie also initiated a Collegiate Stockgrowers Club at MSU-Northern. Prior to college, she was a member of 4-H, FFA and National Honor Society, and was on the honor roll, academic all-state, and all-conference track. In addition to her many organizations, Laramie enjoys college rodeo, bible study and investing her time and money in cattle.

After college, Laramie plans to go on and receive her masters and eventually work in promoting the ever- growing and essential agriculture field of Montana.

When asked why she wants to become Miss Rodeo Montana, Laramie says that a rodeo queen is a role model that is looked up to by all age groups. She sets an example for the young and is a friend to the grown-ups. As a young girl, she was in awe of the rodeo royalty. She still has all the autographs she collected. She looked up to those girls and if she can do that to others, what a great opportunity to give back! Also she loves rodeo and what it stands for, which she believes is the American West and cowboy name. Promoting the name is something she would be honored to do.
